Siberian Husky
The Siberian Husky, originating from Siberia, Russia, was bred as a sled dog. They are known for their amazing endurance and willingness to work, especially in colder climates. The fact that they were bred and used in Russia and Alaska makes Huskies have a thicker coat than most other dogs. They were believed to have originated from the Chukchi Tribe in Northeastern Asia, on the Siberian Penninsula. They have been used for many things, including famous sled races and the the United States Army's Arctic Search and Rescue Unit during W.W.II. Originally bred as sled dogs, over the years Huskies have migrated into homes as popular family pets.
