Crayola

Crayola is an art product company founded in 1885 as Binney & Smith, but did not create crayons until around 1902. Crayola started when Binney and Smith took over Binney's father's pigment company, and later, they started developing pigments to compete at World's Fairs. They then started to create what they called dustless chalk, which is now the standard oil crayon. They company headquarters has always been located in Easton, PA, and the name Crayola comes from "craie", which means chalk, and "ola", which means oily.

Miracle Whip

Miracle Whip is a mayonnaise substitute sold by Kraft. They released the product in the 30's as a cheaper alternative to mayo, because sales were slipping due to the depression. There are a few rumors on how Miracle Whip got created, but the official statement by Kraft is that they developed it in their factory using a newly patented mixer. There are a few Miracle Whip products, including Miracle Whip, Miracle Whip Light, and Miracle Whip Zero, which all have less fat and more spices than mayo.

Illinois

Illinois is a US state located in the Midwestern United States. Demographically, it is the most diverse, and also the most average, state in the union. Illinois is the 5th most populous state, and the 25th in terms of size. Illinois' largest city is Chicago, located on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, and the capital is Springfield. 3 president's were serving in Illinois while elected (Lincoln, Grant, and Obama) but only one was born there (Reagan) and one was buried there (Lincoln). Illinois was the 21st state admitted to the union, in 1818, after being a territory for 9 years, and before that, part of French Louisiana and the Northwest territory.

Google

Google is a commonly used search engine. It was created as a privately owned company in 1998, and gave initial stock holdings in 2004. As of 2006, the company's headquarters is located in Mountain View, California. Google is the worlds biggest search engine, and processes around a billion searches a day. Google was created by Sergey Page and Larry Brin, who both now have salarys of $1, but have net worths of $17.5. In 2004, they were chosen as ABC's People of the Year. They also started a philanthropic organization, titled google.org, to raise awareness about environmental and other causes.
