Ball in a Cup

The common childrens game of Ball in a Cup was invented in 1859. The goal of the game is to get a ball, attached to a stick by a string, into a cup, attached on the other end. The game was greatly loved by King Henry III, from France. He was often seen in public playing the game, but after he died, the game went mostly forgotten. It regained some popularity during the rule of Louis XV, and many of the wealthy citizens owned one. It is now very popular in Latin and South American countries, such as Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Equador, Chile, and Venezuela. It has many different names in spanish, like balero, boliche, and perinola.

South Park

South Park is a cartoon show on Comedy Central that is very widely known. Famous for it's very crude humor and paper cut out animation, it often makes fun of current events using very dirty satire. The makers of the show, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, say the dirty language and toilet humor reflects how young boys act when they are alone. Currently Comedy Central's highest rated and longest running show, the show is extremely popular but often criticized. Featuring a large cast of characters, including children, adults, and strange creatures, the show is surprisingly voiced cast mostly by Stone, Parker, Mona Marshall and April Stewart. In one week, the 14th season of South Park will begin.
